Portokalopita – Serves four
Sticky Greek orange, yoghurt and filo cake
A deliciously moist baked Greek style dessert of shredded filo pastry, yoghurt and egg, steeped in sweet syrup flavoured with fresh orange zest and cinnamon.
Ingredients: Greek style yoghurt (milk) (baking powder (wheat flour, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate E450(i), Sodium Bicarbonate E500(ii), plain flour (wheat flour, calcium carbonate, Iron, niacin, thiamine), egg, golden caster sugar, orange zest, Filo pastry (wheat flour, calcium carbonate, Iron, niacin, thiamine, water, maize starch, sunflower oil, salt), butter (milk), cinnamon.
Cooking instructions from frozen. Not suitable for microwave cooking.
For best results preheat the oven to 150ºC, 300ºF, Gas 2, remove the lid, cover with foil and cook from frozen in the foil dish for 40 minutes.Oven devices may vary. These instructions have been tested using an accurate oven thermometer and we recommend that, to ensure this product is properly cooked, you use one too!
